Ingredients

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 cups vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

Mix yeast with warm water and 1 tsp sugar. Let sit for 5 minutes.

In a bowl, combine flour, remaining sugar, and salt.

Add yeast mixture and vanilla, mix until smooth.

Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour.

Heat oil to 350°F (175°C).

Scoop batter with a spoon and drop into hot oil. Fry until golden brown.
